I’m Calling Fake on the MQ-9 Reaper Video
Fake videos are relatively easy to produce.
Here we have a video, purportedly of a Russian Su-27 dumping jet fuel on the USG MQ-9 Reaper drone.
First, I admit I know very little about aviation and military aircraft. However, I do know a manufactured video when I see one. Please comment below if you believe I am off-base. Fake videos are relatively easy to produce.
1) the prop seems to be going rather slow to keep this large military drone aloft. Is it possible, at this altitude, less propulsion is required?
2) at the end of the video, we see glitches, supposedly as a result of fuel contamination. I have worked quite a bit with video in the past and the “glitches” look like a video FX. Again, I may be off-base, but I have downloaded and used similar video clips in the recent past.
Naturally, because the NYT tells us this video is legitimate, we can rest assured it is real, right? So were Saddam Hussein’s WMDs that supposedly threatened the entire world, as lying neocons told us. Or the lies told by the Pentagon about the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false,” declared the late director of the CIA, William Casey.
Or how about that infamous war criminal, Winston Churchill, who said, “In war, the truth must be guarded by a bodyguard of lies.”
Considering the manifest, continual, and pathological lies by the USG and its Pentagon, I’m going to need more substantial evidence than a video in order to buy into the narrative.
This will not be forthcoming. The American people, terminally incurious, will take this video at face value, never mind if the USG had taken down a Russian drone over neutral waters, many Americans would stand up and cheer.
The prop looks like that because you're viewing it via video; I think it has to do with pixel capture rates on digital cameras, which sample one line of pixels at a time. Or something. It's the same effect that makes video screens on TV shows appear distorted in a way that isn't apparent to the naked eye. The propeller was moving at normal speeds and the aircraft wouldn't be able to stay aloft if it were really moving as slowly as it appears to be.
