New Year of Forever War

Forever because there will always be resistance to the neoliberal nightmare.

It’s not looking good out there, not for the New Year.

It looks like we are about to enter, or have already entered, the point of no return in the forever war.

It’s more than one war, although the big one now is Ukraine.

Belarus shot down one of Kyiv’s drones. It seeks an excuse to throw troops at Ukraine. Recent videos of multiple trainloads of tanks, military vehicles, and war materiel heading for the border were posted on social media.

The Russians have vowed to intercept and eliminate USG-NATO arms fueling the conflict.

It looks like this is going to last a long time. It will last until one or the other is pushed to the limit. Then all bets are off. Russia is supposedly painted in a corner, as the war propaganda corporate media likes to repeat over and over, because effective lies need repetition, as Hitler and Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels knew.

Meanwhile, the Israelis have taken the opportunity to put in place the most rightwing government to date, cobbled together by Bibi Netanyahu, the man under a perpetual dark cloud of corruption. It is a coalition of zionist settler types determined to annex the West Bank. In other words, continue to drive Palestinians out, i.e., ethnic cleanse them, commit Nakba, destroy culture, and heritage, and wipe out entire villages, poison wells, and turn millions into refugees, a plan masterminded and coordinated decades ago as the Israeli state was established in 1948 on stolen land. It is the not-so-hidden agenda of the radical right zionists in Israel. If the people in Israel had not voted them in, they would end up ruling anyway. Elections are essentially meaningless. The zionist agenda is of primary importance, overriding the safety and well-being of citizens. It is the kernel, the very core ideology of the Israeli state—evolving genocidal racism, ethnic cleansing, the murder of children and journalists, the establishment of a zionist master race, imposing second- and third-class status on hapless non-Jews. None of this is mentioned in the corporate media.

For most of the world, it is acknowledged Israel is an apartheid state where non-Jews, especially Palestinian Arabs, are a hated and resented underclass. For decades, the USG has supported Israeli slow-motion (now brazenly picking up in speed) removal of the Arab population in Jerusalem, and now the West Bank, soon with full annexation.

There will not be a vote on this, not like there was in Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk. Even Bedouin Arabs in the Negev desert are harassed, beaten, and threatened. They have one of the highest birth rates in the world and that scares the dickens out of zionist Israel. It’s a demographic bomb Israel is desperately attempting to short-circuit.

Serbian and Albanian tribal insanity echoing from the 13th century threatens to explode, another cankerous sore spot on  Europe’s inherited post-Soviet underbelly. Lost is the lesson of the imperial ambition of Austria-Hungary and its war-minded conspiratorial neighbors more than a hundred years ago with the assassination of a high member of the ruling elite and his wife in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Kosovo’s neighborhood. It is the birthplace of the first truly horrific, mechanized, and artillery-heavy war in history, resulting in millions cruelly killed by bombs, bullets, gas, exposure to the elements, and disease.

Few are alarmed. Some, however, are worried about war, about nuclear war. It is agreed in poll after poll there should be a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia. But the USG ignores all pleas, plows ahead, and dictates nyet on negotiations. No peace deal. Zelenskyy must decide if negotiations are to happen, thus announces Antony Blinken, the Biden Sec. Of State. In the same breath, he tells the world the idea here is to “weaken” Russia. As an example of how that works, consider Iraq, Syria, and Libya. Not so much conquer as reduce to rubble and a graveyard. Make sure there are no serious competitors.

Delusional belief reigns supreme, spurred on by things made-up propaganda media. Ukraine is winning. Russia will arrive at the negotiation table on bent knee, humiliated, surrendering to the world hegemon supreme, the USG, muscle machine for the financial and transnational corporate elite, now pretending to be woke, yet another expedient PR insincerity with a predictable negative consequence. Putin will face war crimes and maybe die in prison like Slobodan Milošević (poison is presumed). It is utter nonsense, the worst propaganda.

North Korea, South Korea. Drones crossing the border. South Korea will throw $440 million at an effort to stop North Korea’s off-the-shelf drones from entering its airspace. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has ordered military drills. During the Sixth Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the party's 8th Central Committee, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un pledged to further militarize the isolated communist country. He also promised to take “bold military steps” against Japan, characterizing its military buildup to that of the Imperial Japanese Empire prior to WWII.

Oh, yes, lest I forget. Iran. It is to be bombed. More than ever. Israel is ready, impatient. The USG and Israel held war drills, an exercise for JDAMing the tar out of Iran and killing untold thousands, possibly even creating a neighborhood or global nuclear catastrophe as reactors and enrichment facilities are blown to smithereens.

If the USG and Israel have demonstrated anything, it is that you not only invade a country, defeat its military and kill its leaders, you also destroy its infrastructure, sanction and malnourish its people. The process is biblical and medieval. It receives urgency by the continual assertion Putin is about to nuke the world.

It’s said Iran has nukes. Except that it doesn’t. Intelligence agencies have stated over and over. Iran has not manufactured a bomb, it does not plan to make a bomb, and it has said it believes atomic bombs are irreligious monstrosities. Even if that’s a lie, Iran does not have a logical reason to nuke Israel, knowing full well it would be reduced to a radioactive parking lot by the combined forces of the USG, Israel, and probably NATO.

Iran needs a bomb. Nuclear bombs are game-changers. They dramatically inform adversaries of the desire to be left alone, free of the neoliberal nightmare.

Iran is surrounded on all sides by a nuclear bristling USG. From the north, by nuke-armed Israel, although Israel lies about its nukes. Few mention Israeli nuke facilities in the Negev desert (Dimona). It can’t be ruled out when Israel attacks Iran, as it continually and loudly promises, Iran in turn will target Israel’s undeclared nukes.

Israel’s Samson Option is to nuke everybody everywhere. It is dismissed as a conspiracy theory.

Iran is the bad guy. Its very existence threatens the designated hegemon-client of the Middle East, tiny apartheid Israel. It has refused to submit to the neoliberal juggernaut.

All competitors must be eliminated. That’s rule one of neoliberal and neocon factions united. Kill the competition if they do not respond appropriately to bribes and threats. There will be blood. Guaranteed.

Flimsy, made-up accusations precede. Weapons of Mass Destruction. Irrational and apocalyptic mullahs itching to nuke Israel. Minorities mistreated. Babies were thrown from incubators. Huns bayoneted the same. Serbs kill Albanian grandmas. Russians rape, murder, and forcibly remove fellow Ukrainians. Repeated and serial violations of the Geneva Conventions. Never mind our violations, more numerous than all others. The indispensable nation gets a free pass. It uses murder when and wherever it wants, just like the psychopathic serial killer.

Turkey and the Kurds, share tribal hostility. Turkey wants to invade Syria. Get rid of the Kurdish separatists once and for all. Meanwhile, Turkey and Cyprus are inflaming old hotspots and creating new ones. Mostly around gas exploration.

War footing all around, more dangerous than the old Cold War.

All will spill into the New Year. I don’t know if we will make it through the year without a serious escalation in Ukraine, or the Taiwan Strait, or Taiwan proper, which we have promised to defend, never mind the USG has no national security interest there, or in Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Ukraine, almost anywhere it has positioned its soldiers and death machines.

2023 will be yet another year in the indispensable nation’s Forever War. Forever because there will always be resistance to the neoliberal nightmare. One can only hope this resistance, and response to it, will not result in the extinction of all life on the planet.
