Tucker Carlson: Trust Fund Baby, Wannabe CIA Agent
Tucker Carlson's role was to intensify the “culture war,” an artifice construct to steer the American people into counterproductive squabbling and violence.
Earlier this week, I was somewhat amused by all the ballyhoo surrounding the firing of Tucker Carlson at Fox News. His dismissal has zero to do with the Dominion “defamation” lawsuit. It’s about his fictional persona as a populist, an acting gig that has fooled millions of Americans.
If you are interested in discovering the real Tucker Carlson, read Tucker Carlson: The Elite Pedigree of a Brilliant Cosplaying “Populist,” posted at Mint Press News (MPN).
Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson is an entitled blue blood. “His great-uncle was Arkansas Senator William Fulbright, while his step-mother, Patricia Swanson, is the heiress to the Swanson Frozen Food company fortune,” reports Mint Press News.
In 2008, during an interview on “Bubba the Love Sponge,” Carlson described himself as “extraordinarily loaded,” thanks to an “inheritance from my number of trust funds.” Asked if he considers himself a trust fund baby, Carlson replied, “Oh completely, I’ve never needed to work, yeah… I mean it’s all just—the whole cable news thing… it was just like a phase I was going through.”
Carlson is an actor, like his controlled colleagues at Fox News (and all the other “mainstream” corporate media “news” networks). The problem is that he ditched the neocon script and began ad-libbing monologues, knowing full well that an anti-government, pro-populist slant would be popular in the wake of the Donald Trump election victory.
However, as the MPN article demonstrates, Carlson is something other than the fictional persona he would have us believe.
Tucker’s father, Richard ‘Dick’ Carlson, “is an important journalist and high state official who was appointed by Ronald Reagan as director of the U.S. Information Agency (USIA), the body that oversees government-funded media, including Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio and TV Martí and Voice of America, of which Dick was also the director,” notes MPN.
USIA was the USG’s premier propaganda conduit, established during the first Cold War. In 1977, The New York Times described USIA as a “worldwide propaganda network built by the CIA.” Prior to USIA, the effort to misinform and manipulate foreign and domestic audiences was the work of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, operated by the CIA. USIA is now the U.S. Agency for Global Media out of the USG State Department.
Richard Carlson was close to a number of psychopathic neocons, including the criminal Scooter Libby, the former chief of staff to VP Dick Cheney, the war criminal responsible for the murder of over a million Iraqis. Libby was convicted on four counts of obstruction of justice, making false statements when interviewed by agents of the FBI, and perjury. His sentence was commuted by Donald Trump.
The elder Carlson, appointed ambassador to Seychelles by the Bush administration, later became a member of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), an “aggressive” neocon think tank, along with the American Enterprise Institute and the Hudson Institute. (For more on FDD, see this writeup at Militarist Monitor.)
The MPN post covers a lot of damning territory on Tucker, including racist and derogatory remarks about Iraqis. “Iraq is a crappy place filled with a bunch of, you know, semiliterate primitive monkeys—that’s why it wasn’t worth invading.” However, prior to the invasions of Iraq by Bush Senior and later Bush Junior (interspersed with medieval sanctions, resulting in the murder of half a million children), Iraq was an advanced Middle Eastern nation, as was Libya prior to Obama and Clinton.
Tucker Carlson wanted to be a CIA agent, but the agency turned him down due to his narcissistic personality and habit of drawing attention to himself. “After college, [Carlson] tried and failed to persuade the CIA to employ him; the real-life agency, unlike its fictional counterparts, prefers not to hire young men who are gabby and insubordinate,” The New Yorker reported.
MPN notes “the Fox News host… attempts to channel popular frustrations away from the real causes of economic grief and into a pointless and endless red vs. blue culture war.”
According to media critic Carlos Maza,
“The goal of Tucker’s show isn’t to challenge the elite; it is to make sure that you never realize who they are. To get you so mad at atheists, feminists, immigrants, millennials, trans people, pot smokers, college students, vegans, the NFL, Brooklyn witches and Lena f-----g Dunham, that you don’t get mad at the people who are actually in charge.”
The goal of corporate media is to manufacture countless diversions designed to build consensus for the endgame agenda of the corporate and global elite—and omit any mention of the individuals, organizations, institutions, and politicians responsible for the slow-motion dismantling of America.
The role of Tucker Carlson—before his ego and narcissism took him into the weeds and off-script—was to intensify the “culture war,” an artifice constructed to steer the American people into pointless and counterproductive squabbling and violence.
“Despite his family’s wealth and close connections with state power, he has convinced millions that he is on their side,” concludes MPN’s Alan McLeod. “Yet Tucker Carlson is no threat to the establishment; in fact, he is one of their greatest assets.”
Tucker Carlson: Trust Fund Baby, Wannabe CIA Agent
He was the only pundit on any network that consistently spoke out against the proxy war in Ukraine. But hey don’t let that get in the way of your victory lap. He did come from money after all.
Well, he nearly let the veil burn to ashes with his my pillow talk about big Harma....
A few folks did notice .
But then, he talks in a snide manner.
But then. He gave RFKjr an interview, Tucker's last hoorah?
He is winning my substack poll for v p, although he'd be more likely to be the press secretary....in my opine...
