Zelenskyy Demands “Preventative” Nuke Strikes on Russia

Volodymyr Zelenskyy kicks the Doomsday Clock a few minutes closer to midnight.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, said during an online conference at the Lowy Institute in Australia, that Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged NATO to preventively strike Russia with nuclear weapons, according to a report filed at Sputnik (Peskov’s Telegraph statement can be read here in Russian).

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has urged the entire world to take note of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's call for a preventive nuclear strike on Russia.

Peskov told Sputnik that Zelensky's statements about "preventive nuclear strikes" against Russia cannot be ignored by the international community, since they are nothing short of a call to start a World War, which will entail catastrophic repercussions.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that the United States and the UK, which "de facto run Kiev," should bear responsibility for Zelensky's statements.

In much of the West, Peskov’s statement was not only largely ignored, it was twisted into something far less ominous.

The Hill, for instance, completely ignored the nuclear aspect of Zelenskyy’s statement. “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday called for the international community to take ‘preventive action’ to deter the potential use of nuclear weapons by Russia in the ongoing war in Ukraine.”

On what is considered the “right” side of the corporate media, the Washington Examiner (reposted MSN) said basically the same thing. “Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on NATO to conduct ‘preemptive strikes’ against Russian targets to prevent their use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.”

It just is not being reported in the West without a propaganda twist.

This is now the fictional narrative running through USG reporting on the conflict. If Russia believes it is losing in Ukraine—and if you read the new and improved Drudge website, you would definitely be convinced Russia is losing badly, in humiliation—you are told Russian soldiers are surrendering en masse to the Ukrainian side. This is rather absurd for the obvious reasons. The Kyiv military, especially in the Donbas, is to a considerable degree fanatical neo-Nazi sadists who post videos of torturing POWs in violation of the Geneva Convention on war.

That’s the major talking point for the media—Russia will nuke and there will be worldwide starvation and misery. Get ready. Buy iodine pills. Shelter in place.

This is a lie. Russia did not say it will nuke Ukraine. President Vladimir Putin said if Russia believes its very existence is a stake—faced extinction by chemical, biological, nuclear, or overwhelming conventional force—it will resort to nuclear weapons as a final option.

Essentially, this is basically the same policy of the USG. The narrative is we are a democracy and we don’t do that sort of thing. Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But then that’s ancient history.

Again, as foreign ministry spokesperson Alexei Zaitsev said far back as May, what we are experiencing are “deliberate lies” about what is happening in Ukraine.

It is sincerely amazing how transparently the corporate war propaganda media turns things around, or how they distort truth through omission, as above.

It is becoming tiresome telling the truth.

The truth is: NATO has planned for some time to stack its troops and machines of mass death up along every inch of the western border of the Russian Federation. It is a historical fact NATO promised not to move east after the Fall of the Berlin Wall or whatever trendy, self-serving title they called the predictable fall of Soviet collectivism.

It’s not there anymore, the largely fictional threat hanging over our heads for more than seventy years. The “Missile Gap,” purely invented, and exploited by an anti-Red Senator Kennedy to win the 1960 election, was used for its Fear Factor. The successful orbit of the Russian satellite, Sputnik, sent the military-industrial complex (MIC) into overdrive inventing and producing missile-jet-death machine, earning billions, while simultaneously building an industrial powerhouse at home. It would eventually be shipped off to nations far less squeamish about human rights.

Korea and the wars since were and are about building on a mobilized WWII model, which is immensely profitable for the financial and corporate elite. In addition to pushing the neoliberal theft operation (“privatization”) into every lucrative nook and cranny from the Middle East to South America, the MIC has reaped enormous profit and created an intelligence-military sub-industry, thus privatizing subversion and death.

The Korean, and Vietnam wars, along with smaller wars in Laos (beginning in 1963) and Cambodia (pivotal in 1970), and the mostly unknown (in America) wars in South and Central America, largely the result of CIA-spawned brutal military dictatorships, and other conflicts in Africa—all shaped a growing national security state, in particular, the Pentagon and the CIA. Its enormous weight (by the time of Kennedy) and hubris have propelled it forward, killing a few million.

Now that once unparalleled lance is splintered at the seams. Former weak archenemies have adopted USG-MIC advanced technology, reverse-engineered it, improved upon it, and now threaten to use it against us if we continue to impose the neoliberal financial order.

Granted, a nation like China is expansionist—as are all empires—and we must deal with that in a rational and diplomatic way. Idle talk about nuclear bombs and preventive strikes obviously killing hundreds of thousands of people is… well, nothing short of unbound, unchecked psychopathic behavior

The irrationality is now reaching a crescendo. It has almost reached the point of no return. The so-called Doomsday Clock conceived by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists now stands at a paltry 100 seconds to midnight.

Zelenskyy’s latest remarks have moved that number even closer to midnight.
